Climb out of the pit

Lately, I am becoming more comfortable with being myself and not having to struggle to restrain my behaviour in one way or another. I guess, I have finally found emotional clarity and let the ghosts go :-) I know it may sound cheesy..but I FEEL LIKE I AM WALKING ON SUNSHINE EVERYWHERE I GO HAHA.

In How I Met Your Mother, there is this 'pit person' concept which says that everyone has someone that drives them so crazy (not in the romantic sense, of course) that we would throw them in a pit, like in the "Silence of the Lambs". Someone whom we blame for the failures in our lives, someone whom we bear a long-term grudge against, someone whom we cannot forgive. In the end, the person in the pit is actually none other than, ourselves.

It is never really about the other person. It's about ourselves. The person we are punishing when we hold on to bad thoughts is always ourselves.

So let's start being kind to ourselves. Let yourself out of the pit. We are no saints. We all make mistakes. We all make bad decisions from time to time. We all have hurt somebody at one point of time, but does it mean we are to be condemned forever? Are we forever gonna be shackled by the shadows of our past, by our own free will?

Learn from, be humbled by, but don't be a prisoner of your past :-)

Let it go, go out and start again~
